    In general, this video explains what child marriage is and shows where child marriage often occurs. 1. According to the UN, child marriage is marriage before the age of 18. However, in some countries, it is permissible for 16-year-olds to marry if their parents allow it. 2. Child brides faced a huge challenge because they are not ready physically or emotionally to take care of a household. 3. Children who marry at a young age are usually hampered by education, especially girls so that they tend to live in poverty. 4. In Africa, child marriage is common in some countries, such as: Niger 76% are under age teen of married The central African Republic 68% Chad 67% Nepal 40% women are married before 18 5. Why did this happen? – the community’s belief that girls are not valued as much as boys, and seen as a burden in family – poverty is a big factor – community pressure

    This video discussed child marriage in America. The highest rate of child marriage are found in Africa but child marriage is legal in 49 American states. The reason is parents forced the underage pregnant daughter to get married (even she is raped). Religion and beliefs held by the community become a protector for the existence of child marriage. People believed that getting married would protect young people from promiscuous sex and prevent babies from being born out of wedlock. So in some cases, the girls have to marry the person who impregnated them even the rapist. Even marriage can be a savior in acts of sexual violence committed against children. In the video, Fraidi Reiss founder of Unchained At Last said that in 2000-2010 estimated two 248.000 children were married in the age around 12 or even younger and almost all of them are married to adult men. In 2018, US state to band child marriage in Delaware so it’s now illegal under the age of 18 to get marriage even with their parents permission. At this time, several states in America have made regulations regarding the minimum age for marriage which ranges from 14-18 years (different in each state)

It provides women with legal and social services, and emotional support ‘ while also raising awareness about arranged and forced marriage in the US and advocating for legislation to protect women.

Despite everything that happened to him, he didn’t blame his parents. Mercy blames the culture that requires her parents to follow her. The culture of marrying at a young age will only cut the progress of society because all the girls who marry will drop out of school. The only way to break the culture of child marriage is to empower girls, allowing women to pursue education. But this also requires support from men. Because to change the tradition requires many roles that will be involved.

    In this video, the speaker told about her child marriage and how it happen in her family. Payzee Mahmod, the speaker of this video, said that she and her sisters are forced to get married at an early age. Payzee told about the story of hers and her sister in case child marriage. Payzee faced an abusive husband and was forced to get pregnant at young age and marriage life doesn’t allow her to continue the education. Her sister, Banazz, has poor story. After experiencing domestic violence, Banazz chose to divorce and left her husband. She then started a new life and met a man then fall in love. The family felt that what Banazz did could break the family honor. After 3 months missing, Banazz was found dead because left her child marriage. Payzee feels like everyone around him doesn’t care about what’s going on. The people who were supposed to protect the children gave them the most painful suffering. childhoos up to 18 should to be a time to learn to grow to persue your dream, not to be married and raped. under the current law in England and Wales child marriage at any age is not a crime this means that children are not automatically protected from non-registered cultural religious or child marriages which happen abroad and a child can get married at the age of 16 and 17 with parental consent
