    The main topic of this video was social anxiety in the modern era, and the speaker explained her experiences meeting clients and their reactions. In this video, she stated the data about social anxiety in this world and mentioned that people usually hear and also believe in three myths about social anxiety. She explained some aspects of how to address social anxiety by including technology and social media.

    The speaker’s main purpose is to give information about social anxiety in this modern era and solutions to handle it.
  3. How trustworthy is this video? Who is the speaker? What is the source? Do you think the source and the speaker are trustworthy?
    In this video, Dr. Fallon, an assistant professor at the University of South Florida and director of the Emotion and Resilience Laboratory, stated her experience when she faced clients. She didn’t mention any sources in several parts of the video, but she mentioned a source named Vogue to explain Naomi Osaka’s experience with social anxiety. Also, when stating the myths of social anxiety, she mentioned her research conducted in her lab. Even though the speaker is an assistant professor, I do think that this video is not entirely trustworthy because we need more research data.

    The speaker’s tone toward the subject in that video is more like encouraging and motivating people who have or maybe had social anxiety experiences. In her speech, she said, “Social anxiety tries to protect us from rejection and it does that by tuning us into the nuances, norms, and dynamics of the social group and we can match our behavior and avoid being rejected.”. She seems neutral yet leaning toward or referring to the disagreeing statement.

    Dr. Fallon stated strong arguments in myths of social anxiety because she included her research experience to give the arguments. She also explained her experience with social anxiety and shared other people’s experiences during the speech to support the key points.

    I do think that this video will help my future project if I add some valid resources or articles or data to support her explanation which is still biased.

    In this video the speaker explains his experience when he was a kid. Dr. Ali said that in certain situations he didn’t speak every time he entered a social situation without his parents. In middle school, he started worrying about something wrong with him. His selective mutism turns into social anxiety. His thoughts became more realistic after his teacher began using exposure therapy. He sought out every opportunity he could to expose himself to anxiety. He joined the speech and debate team, became a Rally Board commissioner, and started wrestling. After he graduated from high school, social anxiety stopped bothering him because he was involved in those activities.

    After having watched his video, I can conclude that his main purpose is to share his experience with social anxiety. According to Dr. Ali, social anxiety can be decreased through certain activities but will not instantly disappear because it takes time.

    I do think this video is quite trustworthy, the speaker is a clinical psychologist named Dr. Ali Mattu and he was an assistant professor at Columbia University. The sources involved in this video are credible because he was using the official website related to social anxiety and mental health, so I could say that this video is quite trustworthy.

    When Dr. Ali explained his stories, he seemed very enthusiastic and full of energy during the whole video because I do think that his stories are quite memorable for him. He mentioned that he disagree it’s impossible if he eliminated the anxiety from his life, he still experiences it especially in a speech in front of many people occasions.

    I do think that Dr. Ali had put the strong argument but he didn’t mentioned about the source that support the arguments. In that video, I do think that it is mostly explained his experiences.

    This video discussed the eight signs that people might have social anxiety, she mentioned the explanation and the examples. When the speaker explained each sign, she also slightly compared it with shyness. The first sign is people are always self-conscious, followed by anxiety that feels out of hand then interferes with people’s performance. For the fourth sign is affects people’s relationships after that followed by people will overanalyze everything then followed by people avoid social situations. The last sign is people will have physical symptoms.

    She mentioned that the video is created for educational purposes only and is not meant to take the place of a professional diagnosis. Also, she wants to give the information to the audience about eight signs that the audience might have social anxiety.

    This video is trustworthy because they put a lot of sources from the journal and credible website of the article. The sources are very connected with the topic itself. The speaker’s name is Amanda Silvera.

    I think the speaker wants to give information to the viewers and at the end of the video what the speaker said is about encouraging people. She seemed agree when she mentioned the arguments because the speaker is also including real life situations.

    When I read the description box of the video, I found that the speaker isn’t the writer because she just voice-overing the script so I think the arguments are from the writer. All of the arguments that the writer had stated in the video are very strong because when we listen to the first sign we can found that the speaker mentioned two experts (Kocovski and Endler) to support other arguments. And also for others arguments are from several journal and articles.

    The speaker talked about the definition of social anxiety then several diagnoses if people have social anxiety and also explained her friends who have social anxiety. After that she explained the meaning of shyness, the meaning shyness itself is a personality trait that we have. The real or main distinction between shyness and social is, shyness is okay and manageable. Social anxiety can impair our ability to function and makes everything feel so hard to do. She stated that not all people with social anxiety are shy, but it’s a mental illness that’s holding them back. Once they overcome the symptoms they can join a party or be the center of attention, meanwhile people who are shy don’t like those things and prefer to spend their time with the closest people. She recommends people with social anxiety to come to the professional help for effective treatment.

    The speaker’s main purpose is to give an explanation about the difference between shyness and social anxiety, including examples of it.

    This video is not one hundred percent trustworthy because she just mentioned one book as the source. Not only from the book, she also uses her friends’ personal experience as the source. The speaker’s name is Kati Morton and she is a licensed therapist.

    I do think that the tone of the speaker in the video is more like encouraging people and told that people can against their social anxiety in the effective way, I do think she feels very emphatic.

    Based what I have heard from the video, she just stated some arguments that were based on her opinion and her friends’ experiences.

    In the first part she talked about the symptoms and definition of social anxiety, she stated the symptoms by asking several questions like “do you avoid social engagements?”, “do you avoid meeting new people?”, “are afraid to go into a crowd?”. She said if social anxiety involves “cognitive distortion” or “mind-reading”, mind-reading is when we are analyzing in our head what we think other people are thinking about us. Then she explained about seven techniques that she does every day and how helps with her social anxiety.

    The speaker’s main purpose is to give information about seven techniques that people who have social anxiety can do in their daily life.

    I do think that this video is quite trustworthy because Paige Pradko is a psychotherapist also an expert in mental health disorder areas and have treated hundreds of people with anxiety disorders, panic, agoraphobia, health anxiety, and OCD.

    I think the speaker wants to give information to the viewers about several techniques to deal with social anxiety based on her experiences. The speaker’s expression is like giving encouragements and motivation if social anxiety can be reduced. She seemed agree when she mentioned the arguments because the speaker is also including real life situations.

    After watching and listening to her video, I can conclude that she put strong arguments because she stated several detail parts like definition and the details itself to support her video. She also mentioned her experience in social anxiety with the techniques to reduce it.

    I will put several techniques in those seven techniques to deal with social anxiety into my project because I think it will support the other idea and because the speaker is a psychotherapist so I can trust her.
