GENERAL

  • General Information

This lesson will be conducted for teaching writing about animals in the zoo for 1st grade elementary school students in 70 minutes. Through this lesson students are supposed to recognize several kinds of animals in the zoo, to pronounce several kinds of animals’ names in English correctly, and to spell several kinds of animals’ names in English correctly. They also will get several vocabularies related to the topic covered in the teaching and learning activity.

  • Lesson Overview 

Warm Up 

– Greeting

– Sing “Good Morning Everybody” song 

– Praying 

– Checking attendance (the teacher can also ask them to mention 1 kind of animal while they’re being called)

– Recalling students’ prior knowledge about the previous meeting

– Asking the students some triggering question connected and related to today’s topic

– Informing the students about today’s activity topic also the learning objectives

Main Activity 

– Showing the students a video about kinds of animals in the zoo (with song) 

– Ask them to mention what animals showed in the video are

– Showing flashcards

– Pronouncing and repeating the target vocabularies showed in the flashcards

– Invite the students to complete the jumble letters.

-Praise the students after they have done it

Wrap Up 

– Providing feedback to the students

–  Summarizing today’s materials

– Giving hints for the next meeting

–  Praying

–  Sing sayonara song

–  End the class
