This lesson plan of natural disasters is used to teach elementary school students in 3rd grade. Introduction to natural disasters at an early age helps develop young learners’ knowledge and helps children to recognize natural events that are likely to occur at unexpected times. This lesson plan focuses on developing students’ vocabulary and speaking skills with one of the interactive speaking methods, role play. The students will be taught starting from word recognition, content understanding, pronunciation, and practice. However, the focus of learning the language of this lesson plan is applicable to young learners and is certainly appropriate.
